Era hip hip hooray

I agree with the ideas of the era. I feel that both men wand woman are equal and deserve equal rights, opportunities and protections. Why is there still no law that says that all humans are equal? It's similar to the racists beliefs that were seen in the civil rights movement. There are still sexist out there even though most people think that this is wrong and there for I think there should be a law. Though I feel if a law was drafted today it would have trouble passing. I think there is alot of sexist ideas that people still have and we would see a big opposition to the era. I feel like democrats would vote it in for the most part. I feel republicans struggle with the whole common sence thing far too often and would make an argument that half the country would follow for some reason. And I feel the t party would probably try killing the woman or something because they are simply crazy.

Jackie Robinson.

Jackie Robinson was one of the greatest figures of the civil rights movement, though I don’t believe you can say the greatest. Jackie Robinson was an amazing individual who conquered race barriers in front of America’s eyes. Baseball was what everyone was watching in America at that time and for him to be the first black man to play and accomplish greatness was huge for the civil rights movement. His actions were viewable by everyone in the country thanks to the advancement of technology and the popularity of baseball. I think he is easily one of the most important individuals but I don’t feel as though one can say he was greater than someone like Martin Luther King.

Butter Battle!

both sides had created a terrible bomb,
the tick taggle tidier fiddle player fenom.
not even those undercover,
would survive to feed toast to one another.
not the young or the old,
nor a single sister or brother.
both ran to the wall with devilish looks,
not knowing that this would kill all the cooks.
no one to cook or butter the bread,
seeing as all capable soles would be quite surely dead.
Both in unison they both through their weapon of devastation.
everyone died.

It is not right to bomb innocent civilians.

It is not right to bomb innocent civilians. I don’t believe those actions are justifiable at all, even in a time of war. They civilians aren’t the ones fighting back and are defenseless. In war countries tend to do whatever it takes to get one step ahead of the other countries and will sometimes go as far as killing civilians. This is wrong and unjustifiable.

Simpsons thing

In my opinion this episode of the Simpsons I think the producers did a great job of portraying the 1920s/prohibition in Springfield. I think that even though this show was written as a joke and made to make people laugh, there really is a message about how life was at those times. Even though it was funny it was able to get this message across. I like how it showed how the people felt about prohibition and I think it fit both the reality and the Simpsons format the way they attacked it with sarcasm since everyone thought it was silly. The end proves this when the old man reads that prohibition was repealed quickly after it was put in place.

If there was anything I would change about the Simpsons episode it would be the way that they smuggled the alcohol in the speakeasies. They showed cops being paid off by the mafia which is good but then they had them smuggle it in with bowling balls. Even though this is funny I think that it takes away from the actuality that there was alcohol being smuggled.

USS Maine

Spain To Blame For The USS Maine!!!
Yesterday was a tragic day for the U.S. The ship USS Maine and all of its passengers were blown up by the Spaniards. They had made many threats about blowing up ships before and this is obvious evidence that Spain is to blame. Witness say they saw many little Spanish men tampering with the ship before it left the port. Spain needs to be taught a lesson for killing a ship load of our proud fellow Americans!
